Session Information

Session Description

The Shared Learning Collaborative (SLC) is a five-state consortium working to develop a common platform for delivery of next generation online and blended learning as well as improved data-driven decision making for parents, teachers, researchers, and administrators. Funded by the Gates Foundation, this effort has the potential to dramatically alter the current landscape of how schools and districts provide access to digital learning content, collaboration and sharing tools, and other resources to support online and blended learning. With any transformative effort of the scale there come numerous opportunities as well as risks. This goal of the workshop is to help participants get a clearer picture of the planned shared learning infrastructure, how it will impact them, and what they can expect in the coming months and years.
This 4-hour workshop will consist of a series of speakers, panel discussions, and roundtables designed to provide participants with a highly informative and interactive format for learning about the current status and future plans for the SLC. Speakers include program officers from the Gates Foundation, state leadership from each of the consortium states, early adopter school district leaders, and members of the technical development team.
